The Blue Blossoms Story
Greetings and welcome to our tale! We are overjoyed and grateful that you have stumbled upon our family and woman-owned business.
The tale of Blue Blossoms began in 2017 with the opening of our doors, but the story behind it started long before that.
My mother, Ingrid, who is a remarkable artist and my partner, was born in Latvia and grew up in a tiny apartment. However, she had a 5 square foot "garden" that she cherished and it was there that her love for nature took root. I, her daughter Laura, was luckier to grow up in the countryside by the river where it was part of our tradition to forage for wildflowers and create crowns and bouquets to decorate our homes. Our love for nature, plants, flowers, trees and animals runs deep in our veins.
Fast forward to 2016, Ingrid traveled across the world to be with her daughter and grandchildren. She found herself in a country with a different culture, language, lifestyle and traditions, but she was determined and brave, driven by her unconditional love for her family. Laura knew something special was in store, and the following year she fulfilled her mother's dream by starting a flower delivery business so that Ingrid could be surrounded by flowers every day.

Meet Kiara
Kiara grew up in Los Angeles, and despite being raised in concrete suburbia, her Dad and Grandparents instilled a deep love for the outdoors, flowers, camping, and wildlife. In 2015, she moved to Santa Barbara to earn her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCSB. Living in Santa Barbara reignited her love for the outdoors with the stunning Los Padres National Forest, hiking trails, and beaches just minutes away—a dream come true.
Post-graduation, Kiara worked in digital marketing for several years and felt that something was missing. Searching for a way to bring creativity and her love for nature into her career, she took a four-month career break to travel throughout Southeast Asia with her fiancé. During this time of self-reflection and exploration, she felt inspired to make a major career shift—dip her toes into an industry that would hopefully bring her back to her deep love of nature and flowers. On a boat in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, she decided that she would reach out to her favorite floral studio, Blue Blossoms, and give floristry a try.
And when she returned from traveling, she slid into Blue Blossoms' DMs with the hopes they might take a chance on her. The timing was serendipitous: the team was hiring, and she began apprenticing under Ingrid the very next week!
Since then, Kiara has become an integral part of Blue Blossoms as both a lead floral designer and studio manager. She loves working closely with couples to bring their wedding floral dreams to life, blending her eye for design with a deep appreciation for meaningful connections. Kiara feels grateful to have found her dream career in floristry and to be embraced as part of the Blue Blossoms family.

Our Ethos
Our priorities are consciousness and minimizing waste. We aim to reuse, reduce, and recycle as much as possible, only buying what's necessary.
We cherish our clients and community. Each bouquet is made with love and care and is one-of-a-kind. Ingrid, being an artist, adjusts each bouquet to convey the desired message - happy, sad, nostalgic, uplifting. We love being a part of these moments and the emotions they evoke.
The name "Blue Blossoms" has a special significance. In Latvia, the winters are long and harsh, but in early spring, the first brave flowers emerge - the Glory of the Snow, also known as Blue Blossoms. They remind us to never forget how blessed we are and to always retain the childlike joy of seeing them for the first time.
By choosing Blue Blossoms, you support a small yet mighty business led by strong and determined women who strive to make the world a kinder and more loving place.
Thank you for reading our story. If you're feeling inspired, we'd love to hear yours too.
With Love,
Laura Goycochea, Ingrida Kraukle, and Kiara Jackson
